David is a Ph.D. student in the Transportation and Infrastructure Systems area at the Lyles School of Civil Engineering from Purdue University. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at the National University of Colombia – Bogotá Campus in November 2022. As an undergraduate student, he pursued research in safety as a member of the Infrastructure and Mobility research team (SIMUN, in its Spanish acronym). He participated also in the undergraduate research program at Purdue in 2021 (UREP-C) where he developed a stated preference experiment for the adoption of a new transportation mode as Hyperloop in the United States. David joined the Sustainable Transportation Systems Research Group in August 2023, and his research interests include the adoption of new technologies in transportation, public transit, and accessibility. Aside from his engineering studies, David enjoys spending his free time hiking, cooking, and swimming.
